Built in 1979, The University Mall was expanded and renovated in various parts from 2005 to present. The University Mall will be rebranded to University Marketplace in 2021.
Most structural components, including; roof, HVAC units, fascia, and landscaping, have been updated.
Brookings added an I-29 interchange at 20th St South and I29. This has positively impacted the traffic counts on 22nd Ave in front of the University Marketplace.
As Brookings continues to grow the vast majority of the new rooftops are constructed on the south side of town north and south of the 20th St South corridor which begins a little less than 1 mile south of the University Marketplace.
